Hellenic Times - "Freedom and Disorder"

The Hellenic Period ranged from 507 BCE (Athens' first democracy) through 323 BCE (the death of Alexander the Great). It is considered the Golden Age of Greece. It also saw the beginnings of modern theater. First, the historical context, with John Green :)

Hellenic Oration

Pericles Funeral Oration, (Hellenic times - 404 BCE) as recounted by the historian Thucydides, is a powerful statement about democracy. A brief summary of the context can be read here and the full text can be viewed in the YouTube.
